Airtel 5G users cross 10-lakh mark in less than 30 days, says the company

Last month, Airtel announced its 5G service rollout in selected cities in India. Less than 30 days later, the company says it has expanded its 5G customer base and crossed 10 lakh unique 5G users in the country. Airtel 5G service, 5G Plus, is currently only available in Delhi, Varanasi, Nagpur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Siliguri. However, the telecom plans to bring it to major cities in India by March 2023.

Not so long ago, Airtel also released a list of eligible phones that could take advantage of its 5G services in India. The list includes phones from various brands, from Realme and Xiaomi to Samsung and OnePlus. Smartphone makers are rolling out OTA updates to enable users to take advantage of the 5G network in India.

Commenting on its 10 lakh unique 5G users milestone, Randeep Sekhon, Bharti Airtel CTO, said in a press statement: “These are early days but the response from customers has been very encouraging. Our network is being built every day even as all 5G devices are now capable of working on the Airtel 5G Plus network barring a few exceptions which should also be done in the coming weeks. We will continue to advance our network with a vision to connect the entire country.”
