“The prepaid plan also offers unlimited local and STD call benefit and 100 SMSes per day”
Bharti Airtel has today announced a new prepaid plan for Rs 168 in India. This is the second tariff plan the telco has launched within a week. Along with data and calling benefits, the new scheme also offers a subscription to caller tunes.
The recharge offers 1GB 3G / 4G daily data to its customers for 28-days. The tariff also comprises unlimited voice calling to any network — including both local and STD calls without any FUP limits. Users can also sent up to 100 SMS per day free of charge as part of the Rs 168 plan. The Hello Tunes subscription will be activated within four hours after the recharge. It’s worth mentioning that Airtel has only launched the scheme in circles of Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana as of now.
In a related news, Airtel also rolled out a slew of prepaid plans under its First Recharge (FRC) scheme, a couple of days back. The plans are targeted at new subscribers, and hence, valid for first / second recharge only. The tariffs start from Rs 178 and go up to Rs 559 to offer free voice calls, SMSes, and a total of 126GB data for the validity period.
Airtel recently fell to the third position in terms of the number of subscriber additions in the month of July as per TRAI’s latest report. Reliance Jio led the charts by adding 11.7 million new subscribers, followed by Vodafone and Airtel with 5 million and 3.1 million subscribers, respectively.
