Airtel Rs 279 and Rs 379 prepaid recharge plans launched: validity, benefits

“New Airtel Rs 379 and Rs 279 prepaid plans are now available across all circles and offer benefits such as life insurance and more”

Bharti Airtel has announced new prepaid plans to take on rival telcos Reliance Jio and Vodafone. Airtel’s new Rs 379 and Rs 279 prepaid recharge plans are now available across all circles. The Rs 379 Airtel plan offers 84-day validity and is aimed to take on similarly priced plans from Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea. The Rs 279 Airtel prepaid plan is different, and offers life insurance cover in addition to other benefits. This isn’t the first Airtel plan to offer life insurance cover. Previously, the telco had launched Rs 599 plan, which offered insurance covers to customers. The Rs 279 plan is now the cheapest plan from Airtel to offer insurance and is best suited for those looking at more benefits.

Airtel Rs 279 prepaid recharge plan

The Airtel Rs 279 prepaid recharge plan is pretty much the same as the Rs 249 plan, but now comes with a Rs 4 lakh Term Life Insurance cover. Airtel has partnered with HDFC Life to provide the insurance cover to its customers. The plan also includes a four-week free subscription to Shaw Academy courses, Airtel Xstream Premium subscription, Wynk Music, and a Rs 100 cashback offer on FASTag. Apart from the extra benefits, the Rs 279 plan provides 1.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and a validity of 28 days.

Airtel Rs 379 prepaid recharge plan

Coming to the Airtel Rs 379 prepaid plan, this comes with a validity of 84 days and offers 6GB of total data, 900 SMS per day, unlimited voice calling, and no FUP limit. It is also bundled with a four-week free course on Shaw Academy, Airtel Xstream subscription, Wynk Music, and Rs 100 cashback when you apply for FASTag.

Both these new Airtel plans come with benefits that neither Jio or Vodafone-Idea offer. Reliance Jio does come with a cheaper Rs 199 plan for one month, where you can get 1.5GB data per day, but it lacks unlimited voice calling and the insurance cover. Vodafone Idea also offers a Rs 379 plan that provides 6GB total data, but only offers 100SMS per day. Jio also provides a similar plan for Rs 329 with 6GB total data, but it lacks free unlimited voice calls. Those who want to get a life insurance plan should opt in for the new Rs 279 monthly plan from Airtel.
