Airtel Rs 599 recharge offers Rs 4 lakh insurance cover and 168GB data

“The Rs 599 Airtel recharge provides the Rs 4 lakh term insurance cover from Bharti AXA for users in Delhi, without even a medical examination”

Airtel has launched a new prepaid recharge with bundled term insurance worth Rs 4 lakh, a unique proposition among telecom packs. The new Rs 599 Airtel recharge offers 2GB of data per day, unlimited local and STD calls, and 100 SMSes per day. Validity of this pack is 84 days, but it also adds more days to your life, probably. However, this plan is currently only available for users in Delhi NCR, which is apt. The insurance cover is provided by Bharti AXA Life and will automatically continue with every recharge.

Bharti Airtel and Bharti AXA Life Insurance have partnered with Airtel to launch this first-of-a-kind prepaid pack for mobile subscribers. The companies want to improve the insurance penetration in the country, which is currently less than 4 percent. Compared to this, over 90 percent of the population have access to mobile services. The country is expected to cross the 800 million mark for smartphone users by the year 2022. The new prepaid bundle makes it super simple for all subscribers to sign up for the insurance covers. The entire process is done digitally and doesn’t involve any paperwork.

The insurance process is completed digitally in a matter of minutes. To enrol for the insurance cover, the subscriber will need to send an SMS or use the Airtel Thanks app. If none of this is possible, then the user can also get it done via the an Airtel retailer. The operator states that the insurance cover is available for customers aged 18 to 54 years. It also requires no medical examination. Once the sign up is completed, the certificate of insurance is delivered digitally. However, the user can also opt for a physical certificate to be delivered to their doorstep.

Both the companies have massive reach throughout the country, including rural areas. Therefore, subscribers in the rural regions can take advantage of this prepaid bundle and get themselves an insurance cover. We are not sure if Airtel plans to bring this prepaid bundle to other regions, but for now, it is only available in Delhi NCR regions.
