[CES 2019]: Alcatel 1X (2019) and 1C (2019) announced, to go on sale in Q1 2019

The TCL Communication-owned brand, Alcatel today took to the stage at CES 2019 to announce two new affordable smartphones. The company has announced the next-generation 2019 variant of its Alcatel 1X and 1C. The new smartphones are called Alcatel 1X (2019) and Alcatel 1C (2019). The brand has announced that these smartphones will go on sale starting some time in Q1 2019.

The Alcatel 1C (2019) is an entry-level smartphone with Android Go branding. The phone comes with a 5.3-inch screen featuring a 2.5D curved glass and 960 x 480 pixel display resolution. The handset comes powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731E processor backed by 1-gig of RAM. In the imaging department, the handset offers a 5-megapixel shooter on the rear panel and a 2MP selfie snapper. On the software front, the phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box and is powered by a 2,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the Alcatel 1C (2019) offers 3.5mm audio jack, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and dual SIM support.

The Alcatel 1X (2019) is more powerful of the duo and comes with a 5.5-inch display featuring HD+ (1,440 x 720) pixel resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor, which is further backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The onboard storage can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. In the imaging department, the 1X (2019) offers 13-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a secondary 2-megapixel shooter on the back. For selfies and video calling, there is a 5-megapixel shooter. Other features include  3.5mm audio jack, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and 3,000mAh battery.

The Alcatel 1X (2019) will be sold for $120 (~Rs 8,500) in the US and €120 (~Rs 9,500) in the Europe. The 1C (2019), on the other hand, will retail for $80 in US and €70 in Europe, which are both roughly Rs 5,600. The smartphones will be made available in select markets in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East beginning in Q1 2019.
