“The Alcatel 5 comes with an 18:9 display and a dual rear camera module”

At MWC 2018, Alcatel launched an entire portfolio of 18:9 smartphones with its 5,3 and 1 series. The range included smartphones like the Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3, Alcatel 3X, Alcatel 3V, Alcatel 1X and Alcatel 1C. The Alcatel 5 is the high-end flagship model in the line-up and we got our hands on it at the event.

Speaking of the spec sheet, the handset comes with an 18:9 5.7-inch display which offers HD+ resolution. There is a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor ticking at its core, which is accompanied by either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, paired with 16GB or 32GB of storage respectively. In the camera department, there is dual camera module on the front in a 13MP f/2.0 + 5MP 120-degree wide angle setup. The front camera also gets a dedicated selfie flash for enhanced low-light selfies. On its rear panel is a 12MP shooter with a f/2.2 aperture and a 1.25μm sensor size with dual tone LED flash. The device boots Android Nougat and is powered by a 3,000mAH battery.

Coming to the availability, the smartphone is already available in select markets in Metallic Black and Metallic Gold hues. It will set you back by €229.99, which is roughly Rs 18,500.
