Amazfit Verge smartwatch has gained a new update that brings Amazon Alexa voice assistant support in India right within the watch. Users can ask about the weather forecast, sports updates, and more directly on the wrist. One can set up and enable Alexa skills for daily news and personalise the “Flash Briefing.” Amazfit says that the Verge smartwatch was granted ‘The Red Dot Award’ for Product Design 2019. Furthermore, iOS users now make and receive phone calls on the Verge. The Amazfit Verge smartwatch app, “Amazfit Watch” is available for iOS and Android.
To recall, Amazfit Verge sports a 1.3-inch circular AMOLED display with 360 x360 pixel resolution and diameter of 43mm. The products ships with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It is powered by the Android-based Amazfit OS and is compatible with devices running Android 4.4 and above or iOS 9.0 and later. Sensors onboard include a gyroscope, air pressure, ambient light, geomagnetic, and an acceleration sensor. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.2 BLE/ BR/EDR as well as 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. The Amazfit Verge is water-resistant up to 1 metre for 30 minutes, courtesy of the IP68 rating. The Amazfit Verge smartwatch is currently available for Rs 10,999.
