Amazon launched the 12th generation Kindle Paperwhite (first impressions) in India today. The company had first introduced the new Kindle Paperwhite in the US alongside the new Kindle Scribe and the Kindle Coloursoft Signature Edition in October last year. Now, a little over six months later, the company is bringing this new device to India.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite price in India, availability
- The new Kindle Paperwhite is priced at Rs 16,999 in India.
- It comes in a single Black coloured variant.
- Amazon is offering covers for its new Kindle Paperwhite in Black, Marine Green, and Tulip Pink colour variants.
- Cover for the new Kindle Paperwhite is priced at Rs 1,999.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite specifications and features
- The 12th generation Kindle Paperwhite comes with a 7-inch glare-free display with a pixel density of 300 ppi. Amazon says that this display is the largest in its Paperwhite lineup so far and it offers narrower bezels and larger screen-to-body ratio.
- It comes with settings to adjust the brightness and warmth of the display. Users can also adjust the font size and make the text bolder to read comfortably.
- The 12th generation Kindle Paperwhite measures 127.6 x 176.7 x 7.8 mm and it weighs 211g.
- It comes with IPX8 rating, which means it can withstand accidental immersion into two meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes.
- The new Kindle comes with a dual-core processor that is coupled with 16GB of storage space. Amazon says that this new Kindle offers 25 percent faster page turns to the users. The company also says that it has improved keyword touch response on the device.
- Coming to the connectivity, the new Kindle Paperwhite has dual-band Wi-Fi for connectivity.
- Talking about battery and charging, the new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a 9W USB power adapter, which the company says charges the device in less than 2.5 hours.
- Amazon also says that the 12th generation Kindle Paperwhite offers a battery life of up to 12 weeks.
