Amazon Echo has received a temporary price cut in India, bringing down the price to Rs 7,999 from the regular Rs 8,999. The offer is valid from April 9th to 11th April, according to a Mumbai-based retailer. Interestingly, the speaker is available at the discounted price in Grey and White colours only, while the Black option is priced at Rs 9,999 on the official site. The Echo smart speaker was launched in 2017 at Rs 9,999 and received a Rs 1,000 price cut in India in June last year. Of course, Amazon has sold the speaker at even lower prices in the country, notably at Rs 6,999 in the Great Indian Sale in October last year.

The Amazon Echo is a hands-free smart speaker with Alexa virtual assistant that lets you play music, make calls, check weather and news, set alarms, control smart home devices, and more. It packs a total of seven microphones, and with beam-forming technology and noise cancellation, Alexa can hear commands from across the room clearly. It comes with a 2.5-inch down-firing woofer, a 0.6-inch dedicated tweeter, and the ability to output the audio in a 360-degree direction. It offers Dolby processing and dynamic bass and can also play songs from streaming service such as JioSaavn, TuneIn and Prime Music.
