Amazons’s all-new Kindle Oasis has a screen that’s easier on the eyes in lowlight conditions

Amazon has launched a new Kindle in India, which features a 7-inch Paperwhite display. It’s called the Kindle Oasis, and it will be available in the country from August 19th. If you’re interested, you can go ahead and pre-order the new Kindle right away. With the new Kindle Oasis launch, the company now sells three types of Kindle e-readers in India, all of them are available on Amazon India.

The Kindle Oasis will be available in two storage configurations. If you want the 8GB storage variant, it will cost your Rs 21,999, whereas the 32GB version is priced at Rs 24,999. Both readers will be available in two colour options: Graphite and Champagne Gold.

If you pre-order the Kindle Oasis, you will receive the first e-book for 100 percent off (up to Rs 500). You can also avail three months of Kindle Unlimited subscription at only Rs 2. Once this offer expires, the subscription will be Rs 169 per month. 

Kindle Oasis features

The main new feature of the Kindle Oasis is its new 7-inch glare-free Paperwhite display with 300 ppi pixel density. It uses the latest e-ink technology and features 25 LEDs up front, which can be colour adjusted. For night time reading, you can turn the display colour tone warm. This way, it will not causes eye fatigue. During the day, the colour tone can be set too cool. You can even automatically set the Kindle to adjust colours based on sunset and sunrise. 

Thanks to the new e-ink technology, page turns are now faster and smoother. It features dedicated page turn buttons as well. The Kindle Oasis is also super thin and light, which makes it easy to hold in one hand. It also features IPX8 certification so you won’t have to worry if you accidentally drop it in the shower or the pool. It can remain submerged in up to 2 meters of water for about 60 minutes. Don’t try to take it swimming on the beach though. And since this is still a Kindle e-reader, you can expect several weeks of battery life on a single charge.
