Android 7.0 Nougat is now rolling out to Nexus devices

Finally, the long wait is over as Google’s latest mobile operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat (review), has started rolling out to select devices after a bunch of developer previews earlier this year. The devices in tow for the update include the Nexus 6 (first impressions), Nexus 5X (review), Nexus 6P (review), Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C tablet and General Mobile 4G.

On the outside, the consumer version of Nougat isn’t very different from the latest Developer preview, albeit more stable than the latter. Coming from Android Marshmallow, the new OS brings a slew of visual tweaks as well as new features like multi-window support, better battery management and a bunch of new emojis.
