- The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 will reportedly account for 40 per cent of total iPhone 12 series shipments
- The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 is said to outsell the iPhone 12 mini
- iPhone 12 series will be unveiled later today
The iPhone 12 series is set to be unveiled later today at Apple’s “Hi, Speed” event at the Apple Park. The new lineup is rumoured to include four models – 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 12, 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. Ahead of the announcement, TF Security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a report detailing the demand expectations of all the Apple iPhone models. The analyst believes the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 will be the most popular in the series, accounting for 40 per cent of total shipments. While the other three models are said to account for 20 per cent each.
Kuo says despite being the cheapest model of the lot, the iPhone 12 mini will have a limited appeal because of its small screen. The analyst says that he doubts the reports that said the overall iPhone 12 component orders have topped 80 million, or at least the actual iPhone sales cannot be compared to the figure. Kuo is expecting lower demand for iPhone 12 in Q4 2020 compared to iPhone 11 series in Q2 2019, owing to the fact that launch has been delayed by a month this year.
A leak from last week had claimed the iPhone 12 mini price will start from $699 (approx Rs 51,100), while the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 would start at $799 (around Rs 58,500). They will be available in Black, White, Red, Blue and Green colours. The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are said to cost $999 (approx Rs 73,000) and $1,099 (around Rs 80,500), respectively. These are tipped to arrive in Gold, Silver, Graphite, and Blue colours. The standard iPhone 12 is said to be on sale from October 23rd/24th. the models will come with up to 512GB storage, variety of colours, Super Retina XDR display, up to 5x optical zoom and ceramic glass.
