91mobiles recently conducted the Great Indian Laptop Survey in which participants were asked several questions regarding the laptop brand they own, how satisfied they are with their current laptop, and how they narrow down their choices while buying a new laptop. Notably, Apple excelled in key laptop metrics and delivered a satisfactory experience in speed, display, audio, security, and other areas. Let’s dive into the survey’s findings and takeaways about the Cupertino giant curated from the responses of over 3,000 participants.
Apple has the highest preference among all laptop brands
- When the respondents were asked about their preferred laptop brand, Apple gained 19.6 percent of votes, which is the highest among all brands given in the options.
- After Apple, people are likely to opt for HP as their next preferred laptop brand, as indicated by the 19 percent share it has achieved in the survey. Trailing behind HP is Dell.
Apple could see a significant boost in its brand loyalty
- With an ownership share of close to 4 percent at present, Apple could see a significant inflow of new MacBook buyers which is expected to increase its share to 19.6 percent among the survey participants.
- This corroborates with the findings in the previous section in which Apple topped as the most aspirational brand in the survey report.
Apple ranks high in various user satisfaction attributes
To figure out how satisfied the respondents are with their current laptops, we asked them about their satisfaction levels across various parameters. Subsequently, Apple ranked high in many of these parameters as showcased below.
Apple users are satisfied with MacBook’s speeds the most
- Apple MacBooks are highly regarded for their speeds by 61.5 percent of its users sharing that they are satisfied with their laptop’s speed. It appears that macOS provides a swift operation in the UI resulting in a satisfactory experience.
- Not far behind is Acer with around 60 percent of votes indicating its laptop users are apt with their device’s speeds. Surprisingly, Infinix has also captured a spot in the top three positions.
Apple MacBooks deliver reliable battery backup
- Although Samsung reigns supreme over other laptop manufacturers when it comes to offering high-battery endurance, 53.8 percent of Apple users claim to be highly satisfied with their MacBook’s battery.
- With the arrival of Apple’s proprietary M series processors on MacBook, the company has frequently made bold claims of having best-in-class battery life across its laptops while maintaining a sleek profile for easy portability.
Apple comes on top in providing the best display experience
- 76.9 percent of the Apple users participating in the 91mobiles’ laptop survey claimed that they were delighted with their MacBook’s display capabilities.
- All modern-age MacBooks feature Liquid Retina displays that offer poppy colours, rich contrast, and crisp details, which are possibly the aspects that Apple users enjoy the most.
Apple ranks in the top three for software satisfaction
- More than half of Acer and Lenovo laptop owners enjoy the software experience provided to them, while Apple sits right below these two brands.
- Most Acer and Lenovo laptops run on Windows while MacBooks boot on Apple’s macOS. About 48 percent of the users seem to be completely satisfied with MacBook’s software.
- The OS is smooth and packs a minimal UX with nifty features such as Stage Manager, window tiling, and offers ecosystem-oriented capabilities that work in great tandem with iPhone and iPad.
Apple delivers the best-in-class audio output
- When asked about the audio experience with their laptop, 54.5 percent of Apple MacBook users said they were very pleased with the audio output. This percentage share is the highest among all brands in the survey.
- Trailing behind Apple are Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Samsung, while LG comes in at the last place.
- Several latest MacBook models pack in Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos for an elevated audio experience in movies, music, and games.
Apple MacBooks pack in dependable webcam per its users
- Although the reliability of MacBook webcams is not the highest per the concluded survey data, its users are fairly satisfied with the camera quality compared to other brands.
- Apple settles for a total percentage share of 53.8 and is ranked right below Lenovo and HP which managed to gain satisfaction rates of 64.1 percent and 54.5 percent respectively when it comes to webcam quality.
Apple MacBook users are highly content with its security features
- Apple has topped the charts by offering reliable security features. Close to about 36 percent of MacBook users have declared their likeness for the same.
- To name a few, macOS comes with Privacy Controls that allow users to choose what to share with online apps, Find My Mac to locate a lost or stolen MacBook, FileVault for disk encryption, and built-in two-factor authentication.
Most MacBook owners are overall pleased with their devices
- Having bagged the top ranks in various parameters based on users’ satisfaction levels, Apple is considered one of the leading brands with 40.4 percent of survey respondents choosing it over others for overall user satisfaction.
- This could be due to MacBooks excelling in various attributes such as delivering long battery life, sturdy and premium build, and top-notch performance across the board making them perfect machines for professional work.
- However, Acer remains the leader in this regard with 50.5 percent of votes followed by 43.8 percent of votes for ASUS.
