As tech giant Apple is gearing up to unveil the iPhone 15 series in the second half of 2023, a report suggests that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro will cost you more than the previous generation ‘Pro’ models. According to Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities in Hong Kong, for the first time since the release of the iPhone X, the tech giant might be considering a price increase for the iPhone 15 Pro.

The company will most likely unveil four smartphones under the iPhone 15 series, including iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will likely be renamed iPhone 15 Ultra. However, it is said that only the iPhone 15 Pro will see the price rise.

iPhone 15 Pro price rise expected

Citing the analyst, a report by ITHome said that the iPhone 15 Pro series had been the subject of price increase rumours twice, with the first instance occurring in January of this year. However, it is still unknown whether Apple will ultimately raise the cost of the new device.

Since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017, the Pro model in the US has maintained a starting price of $999 (roughly Rs 82,694.22). Apple has, however, increased iPhone prices abroad frequently over the past few years, mostly due to exchange rate changes.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the iPhone 13 Pro was launched in India for Rs 1,19,900 for the base model, and on the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro was launched for Rs 1,29,900 for the same base variant.

It is possible that the cost of new models will rise in the US, given the country’s current above-average pace of inflation, the report said. Apple hasn’t adjusted the beginning price of its Pro series phones in six generations, but it might do it with the iPhone 15 Pro. It’s uncertain if the price of the basic iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus would also increase or not.

iPhone 15 Pro might come in a new colour option

Every year, Apple traditionally introduces a new colour variant for its Pro models. The company unveiled new shades of Pacific Blue for the iPhone 12 Pro, Sierra Blue for the iPhone 13, and Deep Purple and Space Black for the iPhone 14 Pro. According to a recent report, the rumoured iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max/Ultra with titanium finish may come in the new Dark Red colour option. Meanwhile, the company has recently launched the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in a new Yellow colour option.
