“The WiFi-only models of the iPad Air and iPad Mini start at Rs 44,900, and Rs 34,900, respectively”
Apple announced two new tablets last month, the iPad Air (2019) and the affordable iPad Mini (2019). Now, the Cupertino giant has released the two slates for the Indian market today. The pricing for the iPad Air starts at Rs 44,900 and starts from Rs 34,900 for the iPad Mini (2019) Wi-Fi-only versions. The Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard will be sold separately and all listings are currently live on the official Apple India website.
Apple has rebooted the two lineups after a long time and differences are mostly in the internals. Both the new iPad Mini and iPad Air are fairly similar products when it comes to specifications and they differ mostly in terms of display size and compatible accessories. The iPad Mini has a 7.9-inch laminated IPS retina display with 2,048 x 1,536-pixel resolution, while the iPad Air has a 10.5-inch Retina display with screen resolution of 2,224 x 1,668 pixels and is slimmer compared to the mini. Both the iPad Mini and iPad Air have a 3.5mm jack, Touch ID, support for Apple Pencil, but the Smart Keyboard is only supported on the more premium iPad Air. Both the two slates also have the same A12 Bionic chip and the same 8-megapixel lens (with f/2.4 aperture) on the back and a 7MP facetime HD camera.
In terms of variants, both these tablets come in Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + cellular options, available in silver, space grey, and gold colours. Storage options are either 64GB or 256GB for both the models. Prices for the WiFi-only versions have been mentioned above. As for the Wi-Fi + cellular variants, the iPad Air will start at Rs 55,900 and the iPad Mini will cost Rs 45,900 for the base variant.
