Highlights
  • iPhone 13 notch design will be different from the notch on the iPhone 12
  • The notch will not be as deep, suggesting smaller sensors for Face ID
  • iPhone 12 series is set to launch on October 13th

The upcoming iPhone 12 is largely expected to retain the same notch design as the iPhone 11, based on all the renders we have seen so far. However, the tipster claims the notch on the iPhone 13 will not be as deep as what we’re used to seeing. The shallow notch design for the iPhone 13 suggests more screen real estate can be expected as well. It seems Apple plans to remove the notch only once the company has perfected the under screen Face ID or Touch ID solution. As of now, this is all we know about the 2021 iPhone.

Apple is set to announce the iPhone 12 series on October 13th. The event, which has the tagline “Hi, Speed”, is expected to see as many as four models in the lineup, including the 5.4-inch iPhone mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 12, 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. All four models are tipped to come with the A14 Bionic SoC, 5G support, and OLED displays.

The iPhone 12 event did not take place in September due to the coronavirus pandemic. Last month, the company launched the new Apple Watch SE, Watch Series 6, iPad Air 4, and iPad 8 models, all of which are now available in India as well through the newly-launched Apple Store online.
