Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is a reliable source when it comes to Apple-related news, and he’s revealed that the new iPhone SE 4 will launch early next year. Apple launched the last iPhone SE 3 back in 2022 with 5G support, and the new version will feature some much needed updates to be a viable option in the mid-range segment. Let’s discuss this in more detail below.
New iPhone SE 4, iPad Air models and Mac lineup to launch early next year
- According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone SE early next year, though there’s no confirmed timeline just yet.
- The report mentions that Apple is close to starting production of the updated iPhone SE 4, which is codenamed V59. Along with this, Apple plans to release new iPad Air models and keyboards around the same time, according to unnamed sources.
- The new iPhone SE 4 will come with a more modern design, ditching the Home button for an edge-to-edge display. It’s expected to resemble the iPhone 14, complete with a notch and Face ID.
- Android Headlines notes that the iPhone SE 4 will feature a single rear camera, possibly an upgraded 48MP lens, and may sport a 6.1-inch OLED panel—the first in the SE lineup. It’s also rumoured to include the Apple A18 chipset with Apple Intelligence support.
- If these updates come through, the new iPhone SE could be an appealing choice in the mid-range segment. However, pricing will be key, as the iPhone SE3 launched at Rs 43,999 in India, and Apple could increase the price, making it a tougher sell.
- Apple is also expected to reveal new iPad Air models, codenamed J607 and J637, with some internal upgrades. There may be updates to the Mac lineup, including a new Mac Mini, a refreshed MacBook Pro, and an iMac featuring the M4 chipset and Apple Intelligence features.
- Gurman also mentions that we might not see a new iPad Pro until 2025, as the current version is already well ahead with the M4 chipset.
