Apple has been long rumoured to launch a new iPhone SE model in 2025. There have been several launch timelines predicted for the iPhone SE 4, especially for March, which is when Apple usually has a product launch. However, it looks like we’ll see the new iPhone SE 4 in April this year along with new iPads.
iPhone SE 4 launch timeline
- Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a trusted Apple commentator, has shared a new update on X about the iPhone SE 4 launch timeline.
- According to Gurman, the iPhone SE 4 and new iPads should launch by April “if all goes to plan”.
- It was earlier expected that these devices will launch along with the iOS 18.3 update but it looks like this isn’t going to happen. Apple will instead launch the new devices before iOS 18.4.
- Apple usually holds a Spring event in March for new products. The iPhone SE models have seen a March-April launch cycle so it should be either of the months for the new generation.
The iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to be a major upgrade since this model is launching two years after the last one. Speaking of upgrades, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to debut Apple’s new 5G modem, which would later launch in the iPhone 17 lineup. It could feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch like the iPhone 14 for the front camera and Face ID.
The 2025 iPhone SE will most likely come with a USB Type-C port instead of Lightning like the previous models. Another major upgrade expected is a 48MP rear camera and a 24MP front camera on the iPhone SE 4. For context, the iPhone SE 3 has a 12MP rear camera and a 7MP front camera.
There could be Apple Intelligence onboard the iPhone SE 4 but it’s too early to say as the AI suite is currently limited to few iPhone models. The iPhone SE 4 should launch in India simultaneously and possibly under Rs 50,000.
