There have been soft rumblings about an Apple event this month and a trusted leaker has corroborated the details including the expected products and their likely release date. We even get the supposed Apple Intelligence release date from this source. The same person has also tipped the products Apple could launch next year. So, there’s a lot to uncover here. Let’s start with the:
Apple October event timeline, expected products
As per Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the next Apple event could take place in late October. We don’t have the exact date. Last year, Apple held its fall event on October 30th.
Some of the newly launched products could go on sale from November 1st.
The expected products are:
- A low-end MacBook Pro M4 14-inch
- A high-end MacBook Pro M4 14-inch and 16-inch
- An upgraded Mac Mini M4 or M4 Pro
- An iMac M4
- A new iPad Mini
There’s no mention of the 11th-generation standard iPad though.
Apple products expected in 2025
- MacBook Air M4 13-inch and 15-inch
- iPhone SE 4
- iPad Air 11-inch and 13-inch
- New Magic Keyboards
- New AirTags
Gurman went on to predict other Apple products that “may take longer to arrive”. This includes a Mac Studio M4 in mid-2025, a Mac Pro, the new iPhone 17 series, new Apple watches, and M5 Macs in H2, 2025.
But before all these products, most Apple users may get something they all have been waiting for: the big AI upgrade:
Apple Intelligence release date (expected)
As per Gurman, Apple Intelligence could launch with iOS 18.1 on October 28th (Monday). If you recall, Apple pushed out the first public beta of iOS 18.1 on September 19th. Gurman thinks Apple is taking its sweet time to fix the bugs and ensure a smooth update experience for users.
The first batch of Apple Intelligence features could include Writing Tools, call transcription, search in Photos, the Clean Up tool for erasing objects in photos, creating Memory Movie with a prompt, and glowing Siri.
Other AI goodies like ChatGPT integration, Image Playground and Genmoji could come with iOS 18.2. You may have to wait longer for the upgraded Siri as it is said to launch with iOS 18.4 sometime in March.
