Apple’s new M3 Ultra chip appears on Geekbench: check scores

Earlier this week, Apple introduced the new in-house M3 Ultra chipset with the updated Mac Studio. The Cupertino giant claims the SoC to be the most powerful chip ever made (by Apple) with 3.3x faster CPU performance and up to 6.4x faster GPU performance compared to previous chips. Just days after the announcement, the Mac Studio 2025 with the M3 Ultra has been spotted on Geekbench hinting at us how powerful the new processor is going to be.

Apple M3 Ultra Geekbench details

• The Apple Mac Studio with M3 Ultra Geekbench listing, as spotted by 91mobiles, shows the model number Mac 15,14 and identifier as M3 Ultra.
• The chipset has managed to score 3,221 in the single-core round and 27,749 in the multi-core segment.

• In comparison, the Apple M3 Max from November 2023 scored 3,227 in the single-core round and 21,167 in the multi-core segment.
• The mid-tier 256GB memory version of the Mac Studio appeared on the benchmark platform. It is running on macOS 15.3.
• The 32-core CPU variant (cluster 1 with 24 cores and cluster 2 with 8 cores) of the Apple M3 Ultra appeared on the benchmark. It has a base frequency of 4.05GHz.

Besides the 32-core CPU, the chipset features an 80-core GPU and 32-core Neural Engine. We get Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. The media engine supports H.264, HEVC, and four ProRes engines. The display engine supports up to eight displays with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz or 4K resolution at up to 144Hz.

Separately, the new 15-inch M4 MacBook Air and the M3 iPad Air (both 11-inch, Wi-Fi+cellular and 13-inch Wi-Fi models) appeared on Geekbench. 

Apple M4 MacBook Air, M3 iPad Air Geekbench details

MacBook Air M4

• The Apple MacBook Air M4 has the model number Mac 16,13 and the CPU name mentioned is M4.
• The chipset has scored 3,680 in the single-core round and 14,924 in the multi-core segment.

• In comparison, the M3-powered MacBook Air last year reportedly scored 3,157 points in the single-core round and 12,020 in the multi-core segment.
• The 16GB RAM model has been used for the benchmark and the machine runs on macOS 15.3.
• The Geekbench listing confirms the CPU as Apple M4 and it has a 10-core CPU with a base frequency of 4.41GHz.

The new MacBook Air M4 price in India starts at Rs 99,900 for the 13-inch and Rs 1,24,900 for the 15-inch model.

iPad Air M3

• The new Apple iPad Air M3 11-inch and 13-inch models have also appeared on Geekbench with the identifiers: iPad 15,4 and iPad 15,5, respectively.
• The iPad Air 11-inch Wi-Fi + cellular model scored 3,016 in the single-core round and 11,414 in the multi-core segment.
• On the other hand, the M3 iPad Air 13-inch Wi-Fi-only version scored 3,058 and 11,692 in the single and multi-core rounds.

• The M3 chipset has eight cores. The listing also confirms the new iPad Air M3 packs at least 8GB RAM on board.

The new iPad Air M3 price in India starts at Rs 59,900 for the base 11-inch model and Rs 79,900 for the 13-inch edition.
