
Apple is having a busy week. Earlier this week, the company introduced the new iPad Air with M3 chip and the iPad 11. Now, almost a day after launching its new iPad models, the company has launched the new MacBook Air with M4 chip. It succeeds the MacBook Air with M3 chip that was launched in March 2024.
Additionally, the company has discontinued the MacBook Air with M3 chip and MacBook Air with M2 chip from its official store in India.
Apart from updating its MacBook Air lineup, the company has also launched a Mac Studio in India and in global markets.
MacBook Air M4 India price and availability
- The new MacBook Air is available for pre-orders in India starting today, that is, March 5th and it will be available for purchase on March 12th.

MacBook Air M4 specifications
- Design: Both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air variants come with an aluminium unibody design. While the 13-inch variant weighs 1.24Kg, the 15-inch variant weights 1.51Kg.
- Display: The 13-inch variant comes with a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2560 x 1664 pixels. The 15-inch variant, on the other hand, comes with 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with a 2880 x 1864 pixel resolution. Both the variants offer 500 nits of peak brights and support P3 Wide Colour gamut and True Tone colours.
- Processor: The new MacBook Air is powered by Apple’s M4 chipset.
- RAM Storage: Both the 13-inch and 15-inch variants of the new MacBook Air are available in 256GB and 512GB of SSD storage space options and 16GB, 24GB and 32GB of RAM variants.
- Software: It runs macOS Sequoia and supports Apple Intelligence.
- Camera: Both variants of the new MacBook Air come with a 12MP Centre Stage camera.
- Battery Life: The 13-inch MacBook Air comes with a 53.8 Whr Li-polymer battery with a 30W USB Type-C adapter. The 15-inch variant of the device comes with a 66.5 Whr Lithium-polymer battery with a 35W USB Type-C adapter. Both the variants support fast charging technology with a 70W or higher USB-C power adapter.
- Connectivity: For connectivity the new MacBook Air has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
- Other features: Additionally features include four-speaker sound system with support for spatial audio, three-mic array with directional beamforming, backlit Magic Keyboard, and Touch ID support. It also supports a multi-display setup. Apple says that the new MacBook Air supports up to two 6K external displays in addition to its built in displays.
It is worth mentioning that Apple has updated its Mac Studio by bringing M4 Max and a new M3 Ultra chip to it. In addition to this, the company has added support for Thunderbolt 5 along with support for up to 512GB of unified memory to it. Additionally, the new Mac Studio supports Apple Intelligence and Large Language Models with over 600 billion parameters.
While the M2 and M3 MacBook Air have been officially discontinued by Apple on the official Apple India website, you can still find these models on e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart, at least until stocks last.
