There was no new Apple Watch SE or the Watch 3 Ultra at the brand’s September launch event. The company just launched the new Watch Series 10 and new colour options of the Watch Ultra 2. Apple Watch SE is already incredibly popular mainly because of the aggressive price and if a cheaper variant is indeed coming out, it will be a head-turner.
Apple Watch SE 3 could arrive in new colours
- Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports the Apple Watch SE 3 is definitely in the works and that will likely arrive in 2025.
- Apple’s team is reportedly busy converting the design from the original aluminium to plastic, a move that will allow it to reduce the price and also introduce new colours.
- For context, the Apple Watch SE 2023 is currently selling at Rs 24,990 on Amazon in India.
- While the colour options are not revealed, Apple might bring new bolder colour options like the iPhone 5c, which has a plastic body.
- Furthermore, the Apple Watch SE model could get a chipset upgrade as well. For context, the Watch SE 2022 uses the Apple S8, much like the Series 8.
- Whether the company will use an S9 or an S10 chipset on the new SE might depend on supply and prices.

As for the Ultra model, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 last year was a fairly minor upgrade from the original Apple Watch Ultra. It is said that Apple is keeping a year gap before the Watch Ultra 3 arrives. Gurman notes that the Ultra series will move to a 2-year upgrade schedule, much like the Watch SE. Even then, it remains to be seen what upgrades the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will bring to the table.
