“The ASUS ROG Phone 2 is expected to come with up to 12GB RAM, 1TB onboard storage, and a 6.59-inch OLED display”
ASUS ROG Phone 2 variants with model numbers ASUS_I001DA and ASUS_I001DB were spotted on TENAA with few basic specifications yesterday. This confirmed the phone would come with a massive 5,800mAh battery. Now, as expected, the listing of ASUS_I001DB has been updated with complete specifications. The handset has been tipped to measure 170.99 x 77.6 x 9.78mm and weighs in at 240 grams. The ASUS ROG Phone 2 is also tipped to come with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and should only be available in a single black colour option. The ROG Phone 2 is likely to sport a 6.59-inch full-HD+ OLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution.
Furthermore, the TENAA images also show regular bezels at the top and bottom like the original ROG phone and the handset should be equipped with dual front-firing speakers for immersive audio quality during gaming sessions. The dual rear cameras are arranged horizontally, accompanied by the LED flash. Interestingly, there is no cutout for rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, so it could either be embedded in the display or on the sides. The ROG logo is expected to rock RGB lighting. The TENAA listing also suggests the ASUS ROG Phone 2 will be powered by the 2.95GHz octa-core Snapdragon 855+ processor and runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
The ASUS ROG Phone 2 is expected to be available in multiple variants including 8GB and 12GB RAM paired with 128GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The 3C listing revealed the phone might come with 30W fast charging support to fuel up the massive 5,800mAh battery. The ASUS ROG 2 is scheduled to launch on July 23rd in China, so with the launch just a few days away; we should know more details soon.
