“ASUS ROG Phone 2 is expected to come with Snapdragon 855+, up to 12GB RAM and run on Android 9.0 Pie”
ASUS ROG Phone 2 is scheduled to launch in China on July 23rd. Recent live images showed off the design of the phone in its full flory, while a Geekbench listing revealed key specifications. Now, days ahead of the launch, the ASUS ROG Phone 2 with model numbers ASUS_I001DA and ASUS_I001DB were spotted on China’s TENAA agency. Based on recent reports, these could be all the variants of the ROG Phone 2 gaming smartphone. The listing reveals the handset would sport a 6.59-inch display, pack a massive 5,800mAh battery, and measure 170.99 x 77.6 x 9.78 mm. Unfortunately, no other details were revealed at the moment, but we expect the listing to be updated before the launch.
Furthermore, the ASUS_I001DC variant of the ROG Phone 2 was recently spotted on Geekbench. It revealed the handset would rock up to 12GB of RAM, runs on Android 9.0 Pie with custom UI on top and it could also be the first phone to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform that offers overclocked CPU and GPU performance. It managed to score 3616 points in a single-core test and 11103 points in multi-core, which is more than most Snapdragon 855 powered flagships.
The leaked live images showed off the phone will offer three levels of screen refresh rates — 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz — and follow the same notch-less design with thick bezels on the top and bottom. It could have a dedicated cooling system to dissipate the heat down while gaming sessions. With the official launch just five days away from now, we don’t have to wait much longer to learn more information.
