ASUS ROG series of phones are quite popular among mobile gaming enthusiasts and it seems like the company is gearing up for a third instalment. An ASUS phone with model code 1003DD was spotted on Geekbench last month with 8GB RAM, Android 10 OS and motherboard Kona, which is linked to the flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC. While it isn’t confirmed, speculations are rife that it could be the ASUS ROG Phone 3 based on the model number. Now, the model number has appeared on the benchmark platform with 12GB RAM. This means the handset should be available in more than just one variant.

The ASUS ROG Phone 3 12GB RAM variant has managed to score 910 points in the single-core test and 3,229 points in the multi-core test. The 8GB RAM model had achieved 902 points and 3,074 points, respectively. ASUS recently announced a partnership with Unity, a platform that is used for creating mobile games. The company mentioned that it would create a plugin for Unity’s Engine that will support five features of the ROG Phone II as well as the upcoming ROG Phone 3. This is the first time that ASUS has openly talked about the gaming phone.

The ASUS I003DD was earlier spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance certification platform. The listing revealed it would come with Qualcomm QCA6390 chipset for connectivity, 2×2 dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Direct, and Miracast support. Unfortunately, that’s everything we know about the ASUS ROG Phone 3 at the moment, but we’re hoping to come across more information soon. The phone should launch in India as the company trough the ROG Phone 2 as well. Unfortunately, the ROG Phone 2 has been out of stock in the country for the pasts few months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
