ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra confirmed to launch globally on February 6th

Highlights
  • The ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra is arriving earlier than its predecessor.
  • The smartphone will have some minor changes especially with the design as it is expected to be a rebranded ROG Phone 9.

ASUS has officially confirmed that the next-generation Zenfone is arriving next month. The upcoming offering is the Zenfone 12 Ultra. The Taiwanese brand had released its predecessor in March last year. Hence, the launch of the Zenfone 12 Ultra is a month ahead of the previous model. Last year, ASUS ditched the compact form factor of previous Zenfones with the Zenfone 11 Ultra and with the upcoming offering, this seems to be the case going forward.

ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra confirmed to launch next month

  • In a post on X, ASUS confirmed that the Zenfone 12 Ultra is set to arrive on February 6, 14:30 GMT (8pm IST).
  • The post suggests that the upcoming offering will pack AI features and will enhance the mobile photography experience.
  • The teaser image shared by the brand confirms 4K video recording and seemingly a focus tracking while capturing videos.

The rest of the details of the Zenfone 12 Ultra remain a mystery at the moment. We can expect ASUS to share more teasers in the coming weeks leading up to the launch event. Back in November last year, we had reported that the upcoming offering surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG certification. Previously, the device was also spotted on the IMEI database.

To recall, the ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra is a slightly rebranded version of the ROG Phone 8. Hence, we can expect the Zenfone 12 Ultra to also pack the same specs and features as the ROG Phone 9 that was unveiled last November. The latter is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite coupled with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. You can check out the full specs here

The ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra did not debut in India. However, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro was introduced in January last year at a starting price tag of Rs 94,999.
