ASUS ZenFone 3 series to get Android O update by mid-2018

“The ZenFone 3 series will get the Android O update with ZenUI 4.0 by next year”

Earlier today, ASUS unveiled its latest ZenFone 4 series smartphones at an event in Taiwan. The new ZenFone offerings are camera-centric devices with a premium metal design. ASUS has equipped the new ZenFones with Android Nougat and its custom ZenUI 4.0 skin on top. The company has also announced that the ZenFone 4 series will be upgraded to Android O. In addition, the brand has confirmed the same for the ZenFone 3 series.

At the event, the company said that the ZenFone 4 series smartphones will be getting the Android O update first. After this, the entire ZenFone 3 series range will be upgraded to the latest Android iteration, while the custom skin will move over to ZenUI 4.0. The brand didn’t reveal exactly when when the update will be delivered. However, ASUS has specified that Android O will be gradually rolled out to these devices until the end of the first half of 2018.

It’s worth mentioning that ASUS has a bad track record when it comes to upgrading its devices to newer Android versions. But now, the brand aims to win back customers by assuring the latest Android O update to its previous and new ZenFone series devices.
