ASUS is gearing up to launch the Zenfone 9 phone, as a successor to the ASUS 8 (No Zenfone branding for India) lineup from last year. This comes just weeks after the brand had unveiled the ASUS 8Z phone in India. Now, while we wait for the announcement, ASUS has accidentally released the promotional video for the Zenfone 9, showing off the entire design and specifications. The phone can be seen in Black, White, Red, and Blue colour options. Like last year’s Zenfone 8Z, the upcoming ASUS Zenfone 9 will also be a flagship and compact size.
Since the promotional video has leaked online, we believe the launch should be around the corner. We only hope the phone is launched in India without much delay like the Zenfone 8Z. It isn’t clear whether the company is also working on a successor to the ASUS 8Z Flip as well.
ASUS Zenfone 9 design
On the very first look, it is quite evident the ASUS Zenfone 9 is a very compact phone. The handset has a punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner for the selfie snapper and narrow bezels. The volume rocker and power button with a fingerprint sensor embedded in it and a smart slide key are on the right edge. The 3.5mm audio jack and a secondary microphone are on the top, while the speaker grille and a USB Type-C port are at the bottom.
The back panel houses two large dual camera sensors and an LED flash. There is a 50MP Gimbal Stabilisation and ‘9’ text engraved on the panel as well.
ASUS Zenfone 9 specifications
ASUS Zenfone 9 specifications include a 5.9-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, punch-hole cutout and slim bezels. The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. According to the video, the phone will pack a 4,300mAh battery, which should have fast charging support. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor with a notification LED and a new smart slider key using which one can scroll through the UI.
The camera section is where the phone has upgraded over the predecessor. It has a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with 6-axis Hybrid Gimbal stabilisation. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack as well and it is IP68 water-resistant.
