ASUS’s budget offerings, the ZenFone Max M1 and ZenFone Lite L1, were launched in October last year at Rs 8,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively. Months after the launch, the brand has announced a permanent price cut of Rs 2,000 on the two phones, bringing down their prices to Rs 6,999 and Rs 4,999. The new prices are already applicable on Flipkart, which is where the phones are being sold. It should be noted, however, that the two phones have been available at these prices for quite some time now thanks to the frequent e-commerce sales.
ASUS ZenFone Lite L1 specifications
The ZenFone Lite (L1) sports a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display with 720 x 1,440 pixels resolution and is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC processor with Adreno 505 GPU. It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage, which can be further increased using a microSD card. The ASUS ZenFone Lite L1 features a 13-megapixel primary shooter on the back, with a 4P lens, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and an LED flash. For selfies, there’s a 5-megapixel shooter and a dedicated LED flash. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Software-wise, the handset boots Android 8.0 Oreo with Zen UI 5.0 on top. There is a 3,000mAh battery onboard.

Moving on to the ASUS ZenFone Max M1, it also has the same 5.45-inch HD+ display and is also powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC, with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage with expansion support up to 256GB. As for biometric security, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock functionality. For optics, there is a 13MP primary shooter and an 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. The handset is loaded with a bigger 4,000mAh battery with a 10W charger; the company claims it can be used to charge other devices as well, thanks to reverse charging.
