“The latest updates for ZenFone Max M2 and Max Pro M2 brings December security patch and camera optimisations for both phones”
Taiwanese handset maker, ASUS rolled out the first over the air (OTA) update for the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 (review) and Max M2 (review) last month. The update brought camera enhancements like EIS and improved audio parameters for the smartphones. It seems that the company is not yet done with the camera enhancements as it has now pushed out new OTA updates for both smartphones.
The latest software update for the ZenFone Max Pro M2 comes bearing the version number 15.2016.1812.179, whereas, the one for Max M2 bears the number 15.2016.1812.145. The features common to both updates are Google’s security patches for December 2018 and optimised camera performance. Apart from these, the ZenFone Max M2 gets improved fingerprint registration and EIS for the front camera. On the other hand, the Pro variant gets improved text translation, noise reduction on FM radio and touchscreen feedback. A report also suggests that the updates might bring several new AI features as well.
To recap, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 ships with a 6.26-inch, Full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a notch at the top of the display. Powering the smartphone is the Snapdragon 660 processor with RAM upto 6GB. In the camera department, the smartphone offers a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel setup on the back and a 13-megapixel unit for selfies. Other features of the phone include a fingerprint scanner, Dual-4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio jack and a massive 5,000mAh battery.
The smartphone recently went on open sale on Flipkart and is priced at Rs 12,999 for the variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The 4GB model has been price at Rs 14,999. ASUS is offering the ZenFone Max Pro M2 in a single blue hue at the moment.
