“ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android Pie update has been confirmed officially, but a timeline for the rollout had not been provided till now”
The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1, which was launched back in April, is confirmed to get a taste of Android Pie, but the company has been mum regarding a timeline. The device was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo, four months before Android Pie became available. But it seems buyers will have to wait a few more months before they get the latest version of Android on their handset.
As per a screenshot of a conversation between an ASUS customer care representative and a ZenFone Max Pro M1 users, posted on SlashLeaks, the Android Pie software for the smartphone would be released by the end of February. It is also stated by the customer support representative that the update is still going through testing. This means ZenFone Max Pro M1 buyers will have to contend with the old version of Android for another couple of months.
Previously, ASUS India had confirmed that the Zenfone Max Pro – along with its sibling Zenfone 5Z – would receive the Android Pie update. The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 is one of the popular devices from the brand that carries a huge battery capacity and good features overall, at a starting price of Rs 10,999.
Rewinding the specs of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1, it flaunts a 6-inch Full-HD+ display. It is based upon Snapdragon 636 SoC and comes in different configurations such as 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. The camera features dual rear setup 13MP + 5MP and 8MP front lens. It is powered by a huge battery capacity of 5,000mAh.
