ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 will go on sale in India for the first time today via e-commerce site Flipkart. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 — along with its sibling ZenFone Max M2 — was unveiled in India last week. Its key highlights are the Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6.26-inch full-HD+ display, 5,000mAh battery, and up to 6GB RAM. The smartphone runs Android Oreo out of the box, but ASUS has confirmed the ZenFone Max Pro M2 Android Pie update will be released in January 2019.

The ZenFone Max Pro M2 price in India starts at Rs 12,999 for the base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Its 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB variants are priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively. Buyers who make the payment using HDFC Bank debit or credit cards or opt for EMI option from the bank will get a flat Rs 1,000 discount. There will also be no-cost EMIs from other banks and Flipkart’s Complete Mobile Protection package at Rs 99. The ZenFone Max Pro M2’s biggest competition in the Indian market is the Redmi Note 6 Pro, powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 specifications include a 6.26-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,280 pixel) display with a notch and the octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC. While the internal storage is capped at 64GB, buyers can slip in a microSD card of up to 2TB capacity for additional storage. On the back is a dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 486 sensor having aperture of f/1.8 and a 5-megapixel depth of field sensor, backed by LED flash and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS). The selfie camera has a single 13-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. The smartphone has face unlock as well as fingerprint sensor for security and is powered by a mammoth 5,000mAh battery.
