2022 Bajaj Chetak EV could be more affordable
Soon after Bajaj Chetak EV’s launch, there was a shortage of semiconductor chips in the auto industry because of the pandemic. With the Chetak 2022, Bajaj Auto aims to completely manufacture the EV in India, RushLane reports. The new Bajaj Chetak could deliver a peak output of 4.2kW and continuous output of 4.0kW, compared to the peak power of 4.08kW and continuous output of 3.8kW of current Chetak.
The new Chetak could launch with an affordable price tag compared to the current Chetak, as the EV will be fabricated with local components, which helps to reduce the manufacturing cost. The affordable price tag will surely benefit the sale number of the EV, giving its competitors tough competition.
The current Chetak EV retails at Rs 1.48 lakhs, which is slightly higher when compared to its competition like Ola S1 and TUV iQube with around Rs 1 lakh price tag. Although multiple EVs are cheaper and claim to be a better performer than the current Chetak. The new Chetak 2022 surely has an opportunity to dominate the EV scooter market with an affordable price tag.
