“The Black Shark 2 Pro is expected to offer the same specs as its predecessor, apart from the processor”
Xiaomi-backed Black Shark is all set to launch its new flagship smartphone called the Black Shark 2 Pro in its home market of China on July 30th. The company has made the announcement on its account on its social networking website Weibo. While the brand hasn’t revealed anything about the Black Shark 2 Pro, it is expected to be a Snapdragon 855 Plus processor-powered offering, which was introduced recently. The handset’s predecessor, the Black Shark 2 was launched with a Snapdragon 855, so we can expect that the Pro model will come with the same design and specifications like its predecessor, apart from the chipset.
If the Black Shark 2 Pro is indeed coming with the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, then it could be the world’s second smartphone to boast this chipset. The first such offering is expected to be the ASUS ROG Phone 2, which is all set to launch on July 23rd. Also, the new-comer Realme has also confirmed that it will also launch a phone with a new Qualcomm processor. Notably, apart from the ASUS ROG Phone 2 and Black Shark 2, the nubia Red Magic 3 will also be getting a new variant with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset soon. Other than the launch date, nothing has been officially confirmed about the Black Shark 2 Pro at the moment.
As for the Black Shark 2, the phone was recently launched in India in late May. The Snapdragon 855-toting gaming phone flaunts a host of new technologies like Liquid Cool 3.0, TrueView Display with 60Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon Elite Gaming, Magic Press, and more. The handset is available in the country for Rs 39,999 for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The other model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs Rs 49,999.
