“The Black Shark 2 gaming phone will come as a successor to last year’s Black Shark Helo, which is powered by Snapdragon 845 and MIUI 10 custom skin”
Xiaomi-backed gaming smartphone brand Black Shark is all set to unveil a new smartphone on March 18th in China. The phone will be called Black Shark 2 and is expected to be the first in the series to rock Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor the Snapdragon 855. Last year’s Black Shark devices (including the Helo) used Snapdragon 845 SoCs. To further boost the performance of Black Shark 2, it’s said to come with Liquid Cool 3.0 technology that seems to be the new generation of cooling tech.
Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed much about the smartphone. However, going by the leaks, the Black Shark 2 could come with a whopping 10GB or 12GB of RAM and an improved 27W fast charger (up from 18W) for fast-charging. The phone will reportedly come running Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 to take care of software side of things. While the camera hardware details are vague at the moment, renders of the phone have revealed, it’ll come with a dual setup on the rear. The handset is also said to boast of slim design and a gaming feature called “Game Turbo” mode.
Xiaomi is running a pre-launch campaign for the device with the slogan “both steady and mad” in Shanghai, China. As stated above, the Black Shark 2 will make its debut in the home market first and will gradually expand to Europe and the recently confirmed market India. We’ll bring you all the update of the phone including its price and availability as soon as it’s there, so keep watching the space.
