“New smartphones from OnePlus, Black Shark, OPPO, and more will be launching in the month of June”

Plenty of new and powerful smartphones are coming to India in June. Almost all brands including OnePlus, Xiaomi-backed Black Shark, OPPO, Honor, and Redmi among others are bringing flagship devices to the country. Of course, the month will also witness the launch of budget and mid-range offerings from the likes of Samsung and Nokia. So if you are looking to buy a smartphone this month, then read on to find out the new ones that will be vying for your attention. 

Black Shark 2

Black Shark is a Chinese manufacturer that’s backed by Xiaomi. Its latest flagship device is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor, which is coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It gets a 6.39-inch AMOLED display, and like other gaming phones, come with some cool looking RGB lights. For photography, there’s a pair of a 48-megapixel Sony sensor coupled with a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor. A 20-megapixel camera is present up front for selfies. The entire package is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery and the device will be going on sale this month.

OPPO Reno Series

OPPO’s Reno smartphone series will be going on sale in India from June 7th. The company has launched both the Reno and Reno 10X Zoom Edition smartphones in the country. The standard Reno comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display, while the expensive sibling gets a larger 6.6-inch display. Under the hood, the Reno features the Snapdragon 710 SoC, whereas the 10X Zoom edition is powered by the top-notch Snapdragon 855 chipset. Similarly, the standard version has a dual-camera setup, while the Zoom edition features a triple-camera module which can offer 10x hybrid zoom. A 4,065mAh battery is available on the Zoom edition, while the standard variant comes with a 3,765mAh battery. For selfies, both phones come with a 16-megapixel sensor, which is hidden in a unique shark fin-style pop-up mechanism.

OnePlus 7

While the OnePlus 7 Pro (review) launched in India in May, the standard OnePlus 7 will be available from June 4th. The handset looks almost identical to the OnePlus 6T (review), though it does get two upgrades. The OP7 is fuelled by the latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 chip, and at the back, you’ll find the 48MP primary camera. Otherwise, just like the 6T, its successor comes with a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch at the top. The device is available with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The battery is rated at 3,700mAh, which supports 20W fast charging.

Honor 20 series

Honor’s latest flagship devices, the Honor 20 and 20 Pro, will also be available in India very soon. Both devices have a lot in common. They feature a 6.26-inch punch-display and are powered by the Kirin 980 processor. The standard Honor 20 comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the Pro variant comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Both phones also come with a quad-camera setup, but again, the Pro variant comes with slightly better sensors. In the battery department, the affordable sibling houses a 3,750mAh battery, whereas the Honor 20 Pro gets a 4,000mAh.

Samsung Galaxy M40

Galaxy M40

The Samsung Galaxy M40 is a mid-range smartphone that’s also coming to India in June. As far as rumours suggest, the phone will come with the Snapdragon 675 processor, which will work in tandem with 6GB RAM. As per the teasers, the M40 will be first mid-range offering to come with a punch-hole display, which is said to measure 6.3-inch diagonally. According to renders, the phone will ship with triple rear cameras and boot Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

If rumours are to be believed, then Samsung might launch the Galaxy A80 (first impressions) in India this month as well. The top-of-the-line handset in the A series comes with a unique swivel camera which doubles up as a selfie shooter.  

ASUS ZenFone 6

The latest flagship from ASUS, the ZenFone 6, is also launching in India in the month of June. This phone is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor and features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. The unique feature of this device is the flip camera module, which means that the rear shooter(s) can double as the selfie camera too. The camera module consists of a 48MP primary camera, which is accompanied by an xxMP shooter. The device features up to 8GB RAM, 256GB storage and a massive 5,000mAh battery. Unlike most flagships these days, the phone has a 3.5mm headphone socket as well.

Redmi K20 / K20 Pro

The new flagship killers from Xiaomi will also be arriving in the country this month as per the teasers. The Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro come with similar features such as a triple rear camera array, a 4,000mAh battery, in-display fingerprint scanner and Android 9.0 Pie onboard. The difference is in terms of the underlying hardware… the Redmi K20 is powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset, while the K20 Pro gets the Snapdragon 855 SoC. Both the phones feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a pop-up selfie module holding a 20MP snapper.

Nokia 1 Plus

The Nokia 1 Plus is an entry-level smartphone, which runs Android Go Edition. The phone is powered by the MediaTek MT6739 processor, which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. It also comes with a 2,500mAh battery and the display measures at 5.45-inches. Considering Nokia has scheduled a launch event for June 6th, we can expect the device to be launched on that day. There are also rumours that the company might also launch the five camera-toting Nokia 9 PureView (first impressions), but we will have to wait and watch if that happens to be the case.
