“The BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X are expected to flaunt full view 18:9 displays”
Smartphone maker BlackBerry has just rolled out a ‘Secure the date’ press invite for an event August 2nd in India. The company, fresh from the launch of the KEY2 smartphone in the country, is expected to take the wraps off its long-rumoured Evolve series handsets – aka Ghost and Ghost Pro – at the event.
The handsets have been the subject of multiple leaks and rumours in the past, and they are allegedly dubbed as the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X. Moreover, the devices are expected to be manufactured by the brand’s licensee Optiemus Infracom, and hence, the event could mark a global launch for the devices.

The specs of the Evolve phones are as much of a mystery to us as its launch. However, past rumours suggest that the handsets will boast 18:9 displays on the front, and pack 4,000mAh batteries under the hood.
Since the event is just around the corner, we should have the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X’s pricing and availability details very soon, if the company launches these devices in the country.
As far as the BlackBerry KEY2 is concerned, the phone sports a QWERTY keypad with a fingerprint sensor hidden below the space key. It features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display and is powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB expandable storage. In the optics department, the device is equipped with dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with a dual-tone LED flash and an 8-megapixel shooter on the front for selfies. The phone boots on Android Oreo out of the box, and a 3,500mAh battery completes the specs sheet. The KEY2 has been priced at Rs 42,990 in the country.
