“The BlackBerry KEYone is bringing back the familiar QWERTY keyboard to Android”
Despite all the ups and downs it has seen, Canadian brand BlackBerry is back to doing what it does best – offering smartphones with physical QWERTY keypads. The KEYone (first impressions) has emerged as the silver lining it needs, and now the company looks all set to launch the handset in Indian handset market.
Blackberry has sent out a media invite for an event to be held in Delhi on August 1st and we are expecting the KEYone to finally arrive in our country. What confirms the launch is the KEYone slogan on the invite, which says “DO MORE. DIFFERENT.” To recap, the handset comes with Snapdragon 625 SoC mated to 3GB RAM, 32GB storage with support for microSD cards up to 256GB, a 12MP primary camera and 8MP selfie camera. The front panel of the device is occupied by the signature QWERTY keyboard and 4.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,620 x 1,080 pixels. The handset boots the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system in its stock avatar, out of the box.
Needless to say, the device will come with the security and connectivity features Blackberry has always been known for. While the launch date is set for August 1st, the exact availability and price will be revealed at the event. Watch this space for the details as and when they’re announced.
