“The Cape Town 940 features a 6.8-inch touch display, and can pair with any Bluetooth-enabled device”
Blaupunkt’s Indian arm has launched its first Android-based in-car infotainment system, the Cape Town 940. The device runs a highly customised version of the dated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The dashboard accessory is priced at Rs 54,990 and comes bundled with a free Wi-Fi USB dongle.
The Cape Town 940 features a 6.8-inch capacitive touch screen display. It comes with a Mirror Mode feature that projects the screens of connected Android and Apple smartphones right on the system’s display, and gives you full control over their functionality. The system comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth twin connect (to pair two devices simultaneously), four USB ports, an HDMI/HML port, and a micro-SD card slot. It is fuelled by a dual-core MST786 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. The device can pair with any phone having Bluetooth connectivity for music playback. It also has a safety feature that prevents the system from playing a video when the car is in motion.
Blaupunkt has partnered with MapmyIndia to offer offline navigation services with the accessory, which users can avail at an additional cost of Rs 3,999.
