BSNL relaunches 5GB free trial broadband plan for existing landline customers

“Under this plan, users get 5GB daily data with 10Mbps speed, post which the connection speed will drop to 1Mbps”

BSNL launched a free 5GB trial broadband plan for existing landline users back in March, and the same expired on March 31st. Now, the state-led Teleco relaunched the same plan for existing BSNL landline users who do not have an active broadband connection. TelecomTalk reports that the customers don’t need to make any upfront deposit, nor they would be asked to pay any monthly rental. Under this plan, users get 5GB daily data with 10Mbps speed, post which the connection speed will drop to 1Mbps. Notably, the trial offer will end on July 31st, 2019. This means the broadband plan is live only for this month.

Furthermore, the BSNL free broadband trial plan is available in all circles except Andaman and Nicobar. However, users won’t be getting any separate calling facility, and the benefits will be applicable as per their existing landline plan. The report added that “the security deposit and the installation charges will be waived off during this period.” It’s also making changes to its cashback policy and now is providing 15 percent cashback on plans under Rs 499, 20 percent cashback on plans above Rs 499 and below Rs 900 and 25 percent cashback on plans above Rs 900. BSNL is also offering a free Amazon Prime subscription for customers subscribing to these plans for a year. This is valid even with plans priced below Rs 499.

BSNL yet again stretched the additional 2.21GB data per day promotional offer till October 1st. However, this extension would be limited to Chennai circle only. The promotional offer is applicable on Rs 186, Rs 429, Rs 485, and Rs 666 prepaid vouchers and Rs 187, Rs 349, Rs 399 and Rs 447 STVs now ship with 3.2GB each day instead of just 1GB data.
