BSNL introduces Rs 1,699 and Rs 2,099 annual plans with up to 1.4TB data benefit

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has today announced two new annual prepaid plans of Rs 1,699 and Rs 2,099. Both the recharges come with a validity of a year and benefits such as unlimited calling, SMS service, free 3G/ 4G data, and Personalised Ring Back Tone (PRBT). As per Telecom Talk, BSNL has announced the offerings under the Diwali Mahadhamaka scheme, terming the offers ‘Recharge se Azadi.’

Moreover, both the Rs Rs 1,699 and Rs 2,099 tariffs will be available to users pan-India, including those of Mumbai and Delhi circles, starting October 29th. The state-owned telco has introduced the recharges on an open market basis, not on a promotional basis.


Talking about the features of new schemes, the Rs 1,069 offers 2GB of data per day, along with an after FUP speed of 80kbps. It also includes unlimited local, STD and national voice call to all networks across the country. Then, there are 100 SMSes per day and free of cost personalised ringtone. The Rs 2,099, on the other hand, also comprises similar benefits but with more data benefit during the period. The recharge offers 4GB of data per day with the same after FUP speed of 80kbps. As mentioned above, they are yearly schemes and hence, validity for 365-day.

Comparing the BSNL’s Rs 1,699 plan with Jio’s latest yearly Rs 1,699 plan, the former bundles more data benefit. BSNL is providing a total of 730GB with its prepaid plan of Rs 1,699 while Jio plan offers 547GB of data for 365 days. However, it’s worth mentioning that Jio also offers other complimentary benefits such as the free access its TV, Cinema and Music apps.
