“BSNL’s new plan offers unlimited calls only within the brand’s own network”
Earlier this month, BSNL launched a new attractive prepaid plan called the STV 429 with voice and data benefits and validity of three months. Now the state-run telecom operator is back with yet another plan to attract its prepaid users. The brand has launched a promotional STV 249 plan, which comes with both voice and data benefits. The promotional offer is running between September 15th and October 25th.
BSNL’s new STV 249 plan has been priced at Rs 249. The prepaid pack offers unlimited local and STD BSNL to BSNL calls for 28 days. For the same period, this plan offers 1GB of data every day, resulting in a total of 28GB. Unfortunately, since BSNL hasn’t yet deployed its 4G LTE network, you will only be able to enjoy the data benefits on its 3G or 2G networks.
Talking about the STV 429 plan that BSNL launched earlier, it offers unlimited local and STD calls to all networks for 90 days. In addition, you also get 1GB of data every day for the same validity. This prepaid plan is available across the country, except in the Kerala telecom circle.
In related news, BSNL is reportedly working with domestic vendors like Lava and Micromax to launch co-branded feature phones with bundled freebies. The company is planning to launch these devices in October this year, soon after Reliance Jio’s VoLTE-enabled JioPhone starts shipping to the buyers. The telco is trying to come up its own bundled phone equipment.
BSNL is prepping to launch its own range of co-branded feature phones with aggressive voice calling benefits to compete with Jio. These devices are said to be priced close to Rs 2,000, and will be available ahead of Diwali, which takes place on October 19th this year.
