Modern Warfare 2 campaign will feature underwater combat, explosive assaults on enemy bases, and stealth missions.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer experience reintroduces 6v6 modes like Team Deathmatch and Domination alongside Ground War matches. The game will also have dedicated third-person playlists, which will be separated from first-person ones. The combat has also been improved and players will now have the option to dip underwater to hide from enemies. Players will also be able to dive and hang from ledges. Besides these, Gunsmith has been revamped to offer even better customisation. Players can use Weapon Platforms in the Gunsmith to swap weapon types seamlessly while retaining attachments.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will feature Core (6v6) and Battle (Ground War, Invasion) maps. So far, five Core maps have been confirmed including Farm 18, Breenbergh Hotel, Mercado Las Almas, Marina Bay, Valderas Museum, and Grand Prix. Confirmed Battle maps include Santa Seña, Sa’id, and Sariff Bay. These Battle maps are key points of interest from Warzone 2.0’s new Al Mazrah map. Along with these, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will introduce two new 6v6 multiplayer modes called Prisoner Rescue and Knockout, as well as 40v40 mode called Invasion.

Modern Warfare 2 will bring back Special Ops mode, which will be a two-player co-op mode that takes place after the main campaign. Spec Ops mode will be available in the game at launch. Along with these, Modern Warfare 2 will get another co-op mode called Raids, which will be a three-player mode where players require strategic approach and puzzle-solving while going through intense combat. This mode sounds quite similar to Destiny’s Raids, which isn’t exactly a bad thing. Modern Warfare 2 Raids mode will be added later this year. Finally, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is also expected to get a premium expansion next year with some campaign content as the next COD title is rumoured to come out in 2024.
