With all the advancements going on in the world of wearables, various electronics companies have already managed to put a smartphone on your wrist in the form of a smartwatch. Now a new wearable called the Cicret Bracelet is on its way that will let users interact with a smartphone right on the skin of their arms. It is a wristband equipped with a pico projector and a row of eight proximity sensors. The device projects an Android interface onto your arm, and detects where your finger (s) are and allow them to interact with the projected interface, similar to a regular touchscreen device.

Cicret wristband

The water-proof wristband works as a standalone wearable, and gets activated with a twist of the wrist. It lets you read/send emails, play games, check the weather, locate places… and so on. It’s also possible to pair it with your smartphone to answer incoming phone calls and activate the speakerphone functionality.

Cicret Waterproof

The features of the bracelet include an accelerometer, vibration mode, an LED for notifications, Bluetooth, micro-USB port, Wi-Fi, and a battery. It will be available in two memory models 16GB and 32GB, and 10 colour variants. The official video for the device shows users typing on their skin while bathing, riding a bicycle….zooming in and out on maps and images, and more.

The Cicret bracelet is currently up for crowd-funding on its website. According to Gizmag, it is expected to reach the masses within a year and a half, and could cost up to $400 (approx. Rs 24,900).
