Google introduced Circle to Search at the Galaxy Unpacked event last year. Similarly, at yesterday’s Galaxy S25 series unveiling, the search giant has announced new updates for the feature that makes it even better and easier to find information. These include AI Overviews and the expansion of things that Circle to Search can now recognize. Notably, this is not just limited to the latest Galaxy S25 phones but to other and older Android devices as well.
Google adds two new features to Circle to Search
- Circle to Search now gets AI Overviews that will display AI-generated summaries for places, images, objects, and more.
- It will provide a snapshot of what you’re looking for along with citation links if you want to learn more from the web.
- Previously, the feature only provided direct Google Search results. For those unaware, AI Overviews appear on the top of the search results page by pulling information from the multiple sources with links to the web pages.
- One thing to note is that AI Overviews is currently limited to English for now.
- Another new feature Google has introduced to Circle to Search is one-tap actions for certain tasks.
- These include phone numbers, URLs, and email address.
- If Circle to Search detects those, users will be able to call, visit the website, or email at a single-tap.
- This eliminates the need to switch between apps to interact with those actions.
Both the new features – AI Overviews and one-tap actions are coming to all supported phones with Circle to Search. However, the rollout may be in a phased manner and it should take a few days to appear if your device is eligible.
