Zerodha, Omegle, Feedly, and more services down due to Cloudflare outage

Popular services like Zerodha, Omegle, Feedly, DoorDash, and Discord are down due to a Cloudflare outage. The internet infrastructure company said that it is investigating “widespread issues with our services and/or network”. A few minutes ago, the firm updated that the “issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented”.

The Cloudflare outage affected several popular services around the world, including India. These include Zerodha, a stock trading platform in India, and services like Discord and Feedly. As of writing this article, the services were still down. Several people have reported that they are facing login issues and crashes on these services, as per DownDetector. Ironically, DownDetector has also been affected as it runs on Cloudflare as well.

According to Cloudflare, “users may experience errors or timeouts reaching Cloudflare’s network or services.” Cloudflare CTO John Graham-Cumming said on a Hacker News thread that the outage is “not worldwide but a lot of places. Problem with our backbone. We know what. Rollbacks etc. happening. Bring it back up in chunks.”

At 12:50 PM IST, the Cloudflare team updated that a fix has been implemented and the firm is monitoring the results. This means affected services should be back up shortly if the fix works. According to the firm, “a critical P0 incident was declared at approximately 06:34 AM UTC.” This caused users attempting to reach Cloudflare’s services to see a 500 Internal Service Error.
