The CMF Phone 2 Pro has been launched in India as the second device from the Nothing-owned brand. It is a solid contender in the affordable smartphone market, with a triple camera setup and MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro SoC. If you are wondering how the device performs, we compared the benchmark scores and real-life test results of the CMF Phone 2 Pro with those of the Vivo T4 (review), which is one of the most powerful smartphones for the price. Read on to how the new CMF smartphone fares against its rival in terms of performance.
Verdict
- AnTuTu test: The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3’s better architecture—primary core + 3 performance cores + 4 efficiency cores vs. 4 performance + 4 efficiency cores of Dimensity 7300 Pro—helps the Vivo T4 perform better in the AnTuTu benchmarking app. Thanks to the combination of a better processor, GPU, memory, and tuned UX, the smartphone scored around 15 per cent higher than the latest CMF device.
- Geekbench test: The Geekbench app divides the processor’s performance into two metrics – single-core and multi-core scores. The former tells us how well the device handles daily tasks, and the latter is a testament to the device’s prowess in handling intense tasks. Once again, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3-powered Vivo T4 scores 15 percent higher than the latest CMF Phone 2 Pro.
- Burnout test: The Burnout app measures the device’s sustained performance when the CPU throttles to prevent overheating. The Vivo T4 outshines the CMF Phone 2 Pro with 9 percent higher sustained performance. While the difference is small, the Vivo T4 will offer slightly more consistent performance under heavy load.
- Gaming test: One of the biggest fallacies of smartphones is that they tend to heat up under heavy usage, primarily gaming. The lower the temperature increase during gaming, the better the device’s gaming performance. At 91mobiles, we play moderately intensive titles like COD: Mobile, BGMI, and Real Racing 3 at identical settings for 30 minutes each and measure the temperature increase after each gaming session. The CMF Phone 2 Pro displayed better thermal management in this round and was much cooler than the Vivo T4 after the 90-minute gaming session.
Smartphone | Overall temperature increase after 90 minutes of gaming |
CMF Phone 2 Pro | 13.7 degrees Celsius |
Vivo T4 | 21.2 degrees Celsius |
This concludes our CMF Phone 2 Pro and Vivo T4 performance comparison. As is evident from the numbers, the CMF smartphone lacks the raw power that the Vivo T4 brings to the table, owing to its superior Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC. However, the Vivo smartphone is priced at Rs 21,999, whereas the CMF Phone 2 Pro can be yours for as low as Rs 18,999. The CMF smartphone is more thermally sound than its counterpart. Therefore, if you game or multitask a lot on your device, the Phone 2 Pro is the one for you.
