CompaQ, a well-known laptop PC brand of the last decade, is making a return to the Indian market, but in the smart TV segment with its Hex Android TV series. The company has launched two large-screen 4K TVs in the market, taking on products by more established brands such as Samsung, Sony, OnePlus, etc. These TVs will be powered by the Android TV platform and will have Google Assistant and Chromecast support. CompaQ TVs in India are being promoted by Ossify Industries, which has licensed the brand name.
CompaQ TVs prices in India
The CompaQ Hex QLED TV prices in India are Rs. 59,999 and Rs 89,999 for the 55-inch and 65-inch 4K models, respectively. However, these are introductory prices and may change later. The company is also offering Rs 1,000 off on all pre-paid orders as of now. Buyers can head to Flipkart to purchase the TVs starting September 1st. Over the next few weeks, the brand also plans to make budget Android TVs with screen sizes ranging from 32-inch to 55-inch.
CompaQ TVs specifications and features
CompaQ has launched Android TV-based QLED TVs in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, both with 4K resolution. CompaQ has focused on build and aesthetics as these TVs come with a premium metal built, sleek design, and bezel-less display. The 55-inch model is about 6.4mm in thickness while the 65-inch model is 7.9mm thick. It is also introducing Experience Stabilization Engine which is said to ensure vivid visuals and crisp fast-action sequences without any lags with the help of advanced algorithms being used. With a more stable colour depth and resolution, users will experience the feel of dynamic frame transitions, says the company.
The 60Hz HDR10-certified display along with Wide Colour Gamut Plus will ensure vibrant visuals, spectacular colours, sharp, and truly immersive viewing experience. Powering these TVs is a 1.1GHz 64-bit quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with Mali T860 MP2 GPU, 16GB onboard storage, and 2.5 GB RAM. Coming to the audio, these TVs have 24W bottom-firing speakers with Dolby Audio, DTS TruSurround, Pure Sound technology, and Mimi Sound Personalisation that is claimed to adapt every sound to match the viewers’ hearing profile. On the connectivity front, these TVs have support for 2.4GHz, and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands and Bluetooth. Both these TVs have 4 HDMI ports and 3 USB ports, out of which one is a USB 3.0 port.
Coming to the software side, similar to any other Android TV, CompaQ TVs have support for over 5,000 apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ZEE5, Disney+ Hotstar, YouTube, and SonyLiv. It also has support for built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant. The remote features hotkeys for Google Assistant, Netflix, and YouTube.
