Coolpad has expanded its Mega series in India with the launch of Mega 5, Mega 5C, and Mega 5M smartphones. All three handsets are budget offerings from the Chinese OEM, with Mega 5 being the most premium in the lot. The handset flaunts an 18:9 aspect ratio, dual cameras, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and dedicated microSD card slot. Though the Mega 5C also comes with 18:9 display, it doesn’t sport the dual cameras and fingerprint sensor. The Mega 5M features an old-school 16:9 aspect ratio screen and slightly downgraded specs.

Coolpad Mega 5, Mega 5C, Mega 5M price in India

The Coolpad Mega 5 price in India is set at Rs 6,999. The Mega 5C, on the other hand, costs Rs 4,499, while the Mega 5M will set you back to Rs 3,999. All three smartphones are available for sale exclusively via offline stores in Blue, Gold, and Dark Grey colour options.

Starting with the Coolpad Mega 5, the handset ships with a 5.7-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1,440p) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by MediaTek’s quad-core MT6739 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage that is further expandable via microSD card. For photography, the device employs a 13-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 0.3-megapixel secondary shooter and LED flash on the rear. Its front camera gets a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. A 3,000mAh battery fuels the dual-SIM smartphone, while a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor ensures device security.

Moving on to the Mega 5C, the phone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor of unspecified make and sports a 5.45-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ (720 x 1,440p) resolution. Coolpad packs the device with meagre 1GB of RAM, 16GB expandable storage, and up to 32GB microSD card support. It is powered by a 2,500mAh battery. In optics, the Mega 5C sports a 5-megapixel sensor both at the front and back. The handset doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor, but does feature face unlock to add a touch of security.

The Coolpad Mega 5M is the most inexpensive smartphone among the three. The handset sports a 5-inch HD display with thick bezels all-around. At its heart lies a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB native storage, again expandable up to 32GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The dual-SIM device packs a 2,000mAh battery to keep the show running, while for photography, it features a 5-megapixel sensor on the rear and a 2-megapixel shooter on the front for selfies. 

While the Android OS version of Mega 5M is unknown, the Mega 5 and Mega 5C both boot Android 8 Oreo out of the box.
