D2h SD and HD set-top boxes’ prices in India slashed; now start at Rs 1,499

The benefits of the D2h connection remain the same despite the lower prices.

D2h has revised the prices of its SD and HD set-top boxes in India. The set-top boxes from Dish TV-owned satellite TV service provider are now cheaper by Rs 100 in the country, per DreamDTH. The D2h SD set-top box, which was previously is selling at Rs 1,599, is now available at Rs 1,499, while the D2h HD box can be fetched at Rs 1,599 instead of Rs 1,699. While the new prices don’t make the D2h’s set-top boxes the cheapest in the country, they surely bring them closer to Dish TV SD and HD set-top boxes, which are retailing at Rs 1,490 and Rs 1,590 respectively in the country.

With every D2h HD set-top box connection, as you may recall, the company is offering a one-month subscription of its Gold HD combo pack, comprising of 248 HD channels.

As for the SD connections, you’ll get a Gold combo pack with 229 channels for a month. 

Apart from D2h and Dish TV, you also have Airtel Digital TV, Tata Sky, and Sun Direct among the big players in the DTH market. Airtel’s Digital TV is the cheapest in the country at the moment. Its SD set-top box connection costs Rs 1,100, while the HD connection will set you back to Rs 1,300. The Tata Sky HD and SD set-top boxes both cost the same at Rs 1,499, while the Sun Direct connection starts at Rs 1,799 for the SD service. The DTH’s HD connection is selling at Rs 1,999.
